|Building cars you love to drive|
|This truck was built before I started the business. It is a fiberglass reproduction body that has an extended cab and sits on a 2002 Ford Ranger chassis. Originally I put a four cylinder engine in it that ended up not having enough power to drive comfortably. It would go, but not really with any authority. That engine is now sitting in storage and a small block Chevy is in the truck. Earlier this year I had enough room to get the truck in the shop and finish it up. We got the engine swapped in, rewiring finished, and made the bed. Customers' cars always come first, though this was a fun project.|
Side view. Bed was made from square tubing and 2x6 boards.
Engine is a Chevy 305 that I bought at an auction. I got it cleaned up and started and never got inside of it. It runs fine and the good thing is that any other small block Chevy will bolt right in its place if somene wants more power.
The seat is a cut down mini truck seat that I bought at a swap meet. I recovered it with the Mexican blanket bought in San Antonio and stretched it over new foam. The dash board is from a 1939 Plymouth with the sides cut off and the center filled for the Haneline 5-in-1 gauge.
The steering column was a swap meet find as well.
The floor was never finished but the shifter is a Lokar with a digital readout for the gear selector. The transmission is a TH 350 that I rebuilt a couple of years ago.
After getting it all done and sold over the internet, this is me saying goodbye.
On the trailer headed to its new home in Wyoming.
