The inspection guidelines are very comprehensive and will give you a good assessment of a car. You can modify it to fit the situation. Obviously, a swap meet project car will be given a good inspection, but they often don’t have a motor, are missing most of the interior, etc. Knowing what you want and what you can afford prior to looking for a car is the best defense against a snap decision and buyer’s remorse. Using Winding Road Classics Inspection Checklist in conjunction with the Inspection Guidelines (both available to the left) will take a while, but you’ll be confident that you’ve checked the car out thoroughly.
The Inspection Checklist is what we use prior to beginning work on a vehicle. Being this thorough is worth the trouble as we know the condition of the vehicle as it appears in the shop. The client then can make an informed decision as to what they want to have repaired or restored.
